What a weekend! My very first street fair was an absolute blast, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
From the second I opened, the seven-city-block-long street fair began to pack with people. Kids were running around playing games, families were chilling and eating all the good food, and the live music made everything feel alive. The weather was perfect, everyone was friendly, and it honestly felt like the whole neighborhood came together to have a good time.
I’m so happy to say it was a huge success! I had way more people show up than I expected. Well, I expected the event to be packed, but I also just assumed everyone would pass me by. But no! So many book lovers. I think seeing people get excited for books is my new favorite pastime!
One thing I kept forgetting was to talk about my publishing side and the books I authored, you know, the creative side of my business. There is too much happening in my head. I blame first run stresses. At least my sister was there to hand out my book promo bookmarks, so not a total fail. Next time!
A huge thank you to every volunteer, the sponsors, my neighboring vendors, and the neighborhood who showed up and made this day unforgettable. This was just the beginning!
I’m already planning for the next one and can’t wait to bring the shop to more fun, community events. Stay tuned — more events are coming soon!
See you at the next festival! 🎉
